Beaches in Finland

Hietaniemi Beach is one of the most popular Finnish beaches among holidaymakers. Particularly attractive is its favorable location right in the center of Helsinki, in the Töölö region, along with the long sandy shore and its easy accessibility. It is curious that the beach was created artificially at the beginning of the 20th century, in the place where the sand unloaded from the barges was originally stored. Now it is a popular holiday destination, which the Finns themselves call Hietsu, which means "fine sand."

Yyteri Beach is the most picturesque sandy beach in Western Finland. It is located in the resort of the same name, about 17 km from the center of Pori. Incredible snow-white sand dunes, waves, suitable for surfing and a good location, providing easy accessibility, all these gave this coast the glory of one of the most popular beaches in this northern country.

Well-developed beach is near a village called Hietasaari. You can get to the place by bus that runs every month, or by railess train, but only in summer. The beach covers an area of almost half a kilometer, it is public and free.

The resort is located south of the capital, near the Kaivopuisto area. You can get to the resort by water, keep in mind that private carriers do not allow pets and bicycles on their board. But there is a special territory for animals on the beach, they can be delivered to the island only at different boats. The sandy beach, the forest, its convenient location and the rocky terrain on the island attract a lot of locals and tourists to Pihlajasaari.

This sandy beach is located in the area of Hanko city. The slope is smooth, but in some places you feel algae and stones under your foot. Therefore, you need to look after the children when swimming. Despite this, the beach area is clean, there are wooden cabins. It is crowded, but there are plenty of vacationers: some people take sunbaths, and other tourists prefer to relax on boats or yachts, parked nearby.

This is a paid city beach in the area of the same name resort Seurasaari, which became famous due to the local museum located in the open air in the forest and consisting of wooden buildings from all over Finland. Newlyweds have a tradition: in the middle of summer, they light a huge bonfire on the water and admire it at night both from the museum and from the beach.

It is all season vacation spot in the area of Tampere. Despite the relatively low air temperature in winter, there are quite a lot of vacationers who, in addition to winter entertainment, visit the local sauna, open all year round, and after warm procedures dip in cool water. This is a lasting impression for many tourists and that is why they visit this place in the winter.
