Jurkalne beach
Jurkalne village is located 50 km from Liepaja. The beach at this place is a narrow strip of sand mixed with shingle. Along the beach there is a high, about 20 m, sandy cliff. It seems, that both pines and sand fall into this abyss. Incredible scenery opens.

Beach description
The beach is preferred by locals. There are few Russians here. Some German tourists, who discovered this quiet place, come here to rest. Favorite entertainment of tourists is to collect amber pebbles in the sand, which is very much here.
There is almost no infrastructure. Except that along the beach there are lonely rickety changing cabins. But here it’s ideal to do paragliding, surfing, wind or kitesurfing. It is possible to get to the place from Riga by transfers. Buses, going to Pavilosta or Ventspils, pass the village.
When is it better to go
The climate of the Latvian coast belongs to the soft sea. There are few sunny days in a year, and the rest of the time the sky is overcast, often it rains. The Baltic Sea does not freeze even in winter. But in summer, the water temperature off the coast only occasionally rises to +22...+23˚С. All the rest of the time - not more than +18˚С.
The peak season on the beaches of Riga Seaside begins in late July, August. The air temperature at this time reaches a comfortable +25°C, sometimes it can increase to +35°C. Winds often blow from the sea. The weather in Latvia is unpredictable, so when planning a vacation in the resorts of Latvia it is better to specifically monitor the weather.
