Jardim do Mar beach
The name of the city Jardim do Mar is translated as "Garden near the sea". On it's territory there are pebble beaches Portinho, Enseada and Vigia, washed by clean Atlantic waters. Tourists will see steep cliffs, bright field flowers, grape and banana plantations.

The resort is not offer facilities and lifeguard. Portinho is a nice exception, which doesn't have bars and showers. Not long ago the access to the beach was only through the sea.
Without developed infrastructure, Jardim do Mar attracts more and more visitors with its isolation and fabulous scenery. And 8 meter waves made it the center of surfing and bodybuilding. This place is famous for hosting various competitions, including the 2001 world Surfing Championships.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Portugal lasts from the beginning of June until September, when the air temperature reaches +30°C and the water temperature - +19°C. It should be remembered that the Atlantic Ocean does not warm up well and cools quickly, lovers of a more comfortable temperature can swim in natural stone pools, which are quite numerous on the coast.
