Port Olry Beach is a calm and mysterious place, immersed in the greenery of tropical palms. Vanuatu is often called the end of the world, lost among the waters of the Pacific Ocean. Beach description

The Port of Olry is situated in a small village with the same name Port Olry on the island of Espiritu Santo, the population of village is 1300 people. Port Olry Beach is famous for its snow-white sands without shells and stones. It is a wide and comfort beach, the length of it is couple hundreds kilometres. There are no rental chaise-lounges, but there are free hammocks. The water approach is gentle, but becomes deeper during the tide. The bottom is clear and sandy, thats why it is completely secure. The water on this beach is a wonderful light turquoise color with absolute clearness. The beach is surrounded by high hills covered with dense vegetation. On the contrary with Shampan' beach, Port Olry is not crowded and even looks barren. The beach is situated in quiet bay, thats why we can seldom see here strong winds and waves here. Port Olry is convenient for eco-tourism and relax with family and little children.

Symbols of Port Olry are some tall palms, survived but a bit turn down above beach by strong hurricanes. And during the fall of the tide on water-free land and reduced water depth it is possible to pass on two neighboring small islands.

The Port Olry beach is called a paradise, where you can meet beautiful sunrises with the first sun rays, turning the turquoise of the Pacific Ocean into a golden eye. Breathtaking views of the bay are opened from the upper points of the hills above the village.

When is the best time to go?

From December to March, Vanuatu becomes restless: local residents and tourists can be disturbed by rains and hurricanes.  The best time to visit the islands is summer and early autumn, when the southeast trade winds slightly remove the heat.

Vanuatu has a unique transportation system. To do this, small buses travel around the city without a specific route, they pick up passengers along the road and take them along the desired route, this is exactly how it is possible to get from the airport to the village of Port Olri.

There is no industrial production in Vanuatu, so the ecology in this part of the world contributes to recovery.

Main occupation of local residents: fishing and tourism. Locals sell ready-made food, hand made goods to tourists, rent water sports equipment and offer horse riding along the Pacific coast.

There are no entertainment centers and large shops in the village.
