Turtle Bay Beach

The ambiguous beach is located on the most mysterious island of Vanuatu - Tanna, more precisely on its southeast coast. A very peculiar place where the usual understanding of the word "village" echoes, the power of the local volcano, a secluded part of the beach and there is a story about turtles in any story of local residents.

Beach description

The beach area is covered with sand, and very hot, primarily because of the closest location of the active volcano. The place for entering the water is quite comfortable, which makes it acceptable for families with children to stay on the territory of Turtle Bay Beach. The local colorful population, as well as small eco-style bungalows, located on the coastline, remind of a forgotten village here. Breeding and preservating a turtle family justifies not only the name of the beach, but also a fascinating swimming with large individuals, as well as their feeding. And this is another reason to visit the beach with children, especially since there is someone to look after them in local accommodation facilities: babysitting services are available. In addition to water trips with turtles, the beach has kite lessons, fishing, swimming with a mask, so the rest here is relevant for any group of tourists.

When is the best time to go?

From December to March, Vanuatu becomes restless: local residents and tourists can be disturbed by rains and hurricanes.  The best time to visit the islands is summer and early autumn, when the southeast trade winds slightly remove the heat.
