Cayo Sombrero beach

Cayo Sombrero beach ranked among the best beaches in Venezuela, so the island of the same name is quite crowded, despite the rocky-sandy coast. There is a beautiful beach in a national park called Morrocoy (Falcon State), in the northwestern part of Venezuela.

Beach description

Get to the coast by water, you can sail as from Chichirvichi, where buses run from the airport in Caracas or from Tukakas, but will take the second way a little longer. The temperature of water and air is the same almost all year round, the difference is only a couple of degrees. However, strong winds in mid-February- March warn vacationers against beach rest.

the area of the beach is quite extensive and diverse- from a lake with a coast to palm thickets. There is also a rental of chair lounges, camping and restaurants along the shoreline of the beach. In addition, you can dive into the turquoise sea to view coral and fish exotic breeds. After all, it is a wonderful place for divers and rare nature lovers- mangrove forests, pelicans and flamingos, reptiles or turtles. The amazing world Of Venezuelan fauna is open here as it is in the palm of your hand.

When is the best time to go?

Venezuela was lucky with its geographical location: hurricanes and tornadoes almost do not pass through the territory of this country, and thanks to the subequatorial climate, the temperature does not fall below 20 and does not rise above 27 degrees all year round. The best time to visit Venezuela is from November to May, during the dry season.
