Welcome to Playa Grande - the majestic beach located in the vibrant city of Choroni, Venezuela. Playa Grande, which translates to 'The Great Beach,' is nestled just half a kilometer east of the city center. This stunning stretch of coastline is ensconced between a towering mountain to the north, which juts out into the sea, and a series of gentler hills to the east, home to the Henri Pittier National Park. The beach's pristine shores are caressed by the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. While access to the beach is primarily through the northern side by the mountain, adventurers can also explore small paths that weave through the lush forest. For a leisurely journey, follow the main road that begins at the city's Tourist Center.

The heart of Playa Grande spans approximately one and a half kilometers in length. Although it is relatively narrow - measuring just 40 to 50 meters - it boasts fine, light sand. Here, verdant palms, deliberately planted to create a tropical paradise, reach tantalizingly close to the water's edge.

The sand on the beach is fine and light yellow, albeit with a slightly earthy hue. Along the northern and eastern fringes, you'll find picturesque stones that add to the beach's natural charm. However, be mindful that strolling along these rocky edges may prove a tad less comfortable.

While the beach undergoes regular cleaning, it may not meet the exacting standards some travelers from five-star accommodations might expect. Notably, there are no trash bins on-site. As such, visitors are encouraged to carry their refuse with them, disposing of it in containers located along the road before exiting the city.
