Beach description

Located in the beautiful bay of Selong-Belanak impresses with its vast and long coast with snow-white powdery soft sand surrounded by picturesque hills covered with dense vegetation and creating a contrasting emerald border of the coast. Due to the considerable length (about 1 km) of the beach, even with numerous crowds of tourists, it does not seem crowded. The bay where Selong Belanak is located is protected from the open ocean, so swimming is the safest here.

For those who wish to learn to surf, this Lombok beach is the best place because of a number of factors contributing to such water leisure, including:

  • the constancy of small plane waves, ideal for training beginners;
  • the ability to conquer the waves at any time of the year;
  • availability of surf schools with experienced instructors and equipment rental centers;
  • well-developed infrastructure and easy accessibility;
  • sandy seabed with no coral and very gentle entry into the sea

Among the minuses – not very clear waters and a peculiar "highlight" of this beach – herds of buffalo distilled along the shore by local shepherds. On the one hand, this is a colorful exotic, on the other, the coast is not always clean after walking along the animals. But the picturesque sunsets in this bay attract many connoisseurs of romance. The northern and central parts of the beach are most suitable for swimming.

When is it better to go?

The air temperature throughout the year differs little and keeps within + 28-30 degrees. In the evening and at night, it is slightly cooler, but the thermometer rarely falls below +23 degrees.
