Gaulding Cay beach

Gaulding Cay Beach is located 5 km north of the city of Gregory on the island of Eleuthera, which is part of the Bahamas archipelago. This place got its name in honor of a tiny island located a few tens of meters from the coast: at low tide you can walk to it. Eleuthera Island is also famous for its pineapples, in honor of which a festival is held in Gregory Town every year in early June.

Beach description

Golding is a long white crescent-shaped sand beach. The beach is surrounded with tall tropical trees bringing coolness to this place before noon. The Caribbean Sea in this part of Bahama Islands is shallow and as clear that observing underwater life is possible even without the special snorkeling mask. Moreover, this beach is often chosen for family picnics and romantic photo sessions.

Another unique feature of this beach is a bridge 9 m wide separating the stormy dark blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean and calm turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Many tourists visit Golding Cay in order to see this unbelievable natural phenomena with their own eyes.

When is the best time to go?

Holidays in the Bahamas are good at any time of the year, but the busy season is in the period from mid-November to May. The Bahamas are disposed quite low in relation to sea level, so the wind blows in the winter months, but it is gentle and soberly pleasant. The air temperature is between 27-29 degrees from the end of autumn to the beginning of summer. Traveling with children, it is better to come in the autumn months, while the spring is more appropriate to go for new emotions, and peacefully enjoy the sunshine – in winter.
