Mero beach

Dominica is a volcanic island. Most of the coastline is rocky, but there are also sandy beaches on the island: Mero Beach Locals often call this beach Vero Beach. It is the nearest beach to the capital of Dominica Roseau, about 25 minutes drive.

Beach description

Mero Beach is a long and wide stretch of silver-gray volcanic sand along the Caribbean coast. In cloudy weather and before sunset, the sand seems gray-black with silver glare.

Also Mero Beach is one of several beaches in Dominica where you can buy food, drinks, rent bathrooms, showers and other amenities. Mero Beach is a popular destination for locals, especially at weekends. Shallow water, a gentle entry, calm waves and warm water make Mero Beach an ideal place for families with children. The beach area is also equipped with areas for sun loungers and umbrellas. Mero Beach is surrounded by picturesque nature, tropical coconut palms and tall hills covered with greenery.

Just a few minutes walk from Mero Beach, there is the family adventure park with rope bridges, rides and labyrinths.

When is it better to go?

The average temperature in Dominica does not go beyond 25-30 degrees all year round. From June to October, powerful tropical showers are washed down the island, so iti s better to choose a different time of the year for a trip.
