Al Mughsayl beach

Al Mughsayl is a solitary sandy beach located in the south of Oman, 40 km away from Salalah. It's a 7 km long coast covered in golden sand and surrounded by hills, tall rocks and the ocean. The beach is known for its magnificent landscapes, great view of the sunset and geysers that "spit out" sea water 30 m high. The experience is enhanced by the strong surf that makes it impossible to swim, the heat of the sun and the strong wind that nullifies the heat. High waves that break at the shore and add salt drops and the scent of the sea to the air can form during monsoons.

Beach description

The beach is popular among both tourists and locals that choose it for walks along the coast, picnics, football games or off-road driving. The available coffee houses and small huts will make your stay even more comfortable. There are no other conveniences here, so you need to bring the picnic equipment with yourself. A small fisherman village is located near Al Mughsayl Beach. The boats left on the shore by its inhabitants attract a lot of seabirds here.

You can get to Al Mughsayl by rented car, bus or taxi. There's a parking lot near the beach, with a panoramic view of the place. Anyone who prefers solitude, be they loners, couples or families, will love this beach.

When is the best time to go?

Since in the summer in Oman the heat rises to 35-40 degrees, it is better to go to a cooler period – from October to March. However, it should be considered that during the New Year holidays there is a peak in the tourist season, which significantly affects the prices.
