Beach description
The Al Qurum Beach is a long gray-sand coast with average infrastructure. Tourists have the opportunity to escape the urban jungles and noise, sunbathe in palm's shadows, swim in the clear waters of the Gulf of Oman, sit under umbrellas and admire the amazing view of the sea or partake in water sports. There are no tides or low tides which makes swimming very safe here. The beach is convenient for families, couples, groups or alone. Active visitors can ride the waves on a jet ski, boat or water ski, practice parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling or diving. During underwater swimming sessions guests can see and explore the rich underwater world of coastal waters, and the cruises across the water area offer you a chance to watch dolphins, whales and seabirds.
Visiting Al Qurum opens great opportunities to see the nearby sights - Bahla Fort, ancient tombs and historical buildings, museum of incense, caves in Ash Sharqiyah district, or alternatively you can partake in a safari ride to the desert.
When is the best time to go?
Since in the summer in Oman the heat rises to 35-40 degrees, it is better to go to a cooler period – from October to March. However, it should be considered that during the New Year holidays there is a peak in the tourist season, which significantly affects the prices.
