Tiwi beach
Tiwi Beach is a wild beach located on the east coast of Oman near the Highway 17, in the outskirts of a small fisherman village Tiwi, 170 km to the south of Muscat. It's full of tourists and locals who come in couples or whole families to set up a picnic and walk along the sea during weekends. Special camping sites are set up for that purpose across the whole coast. The beach, however, is never crowded. Besides the walks and the picnics Tiwi Beach offers the opportunity to swim in the Arabian Sea and engage in diving.

Beach description
The coastline of Tiwi Beach combines several bays covered in sand and stones, with some parts covered in white gravel. This beach is often chosen for relaxation when travelling from Muscat to Surom and vice versa. There is no beach infrastructure available here: no toilets, cafes or shops, which means that the stays here are short, ranging from several hours to one day. You'll have to take care of the conveniences yourself and bring your own umbrellas, chairs, food and water.
When is the best time to go?
Since in the summer in Oman the heat rises to 35-40 degrees, it is better to go to a cooler period – from October to March. However, it should be considered that during the New Year holidays there is a peak in the tourist season, which significantly affects the prices.
