Mangapwani beach

Mangapwani is a deserted beach on the west coast of Zanzibar, located on the territory of the same name fishing village near the capital.

Beach description

Mangapwani beach does not depend on the tides period as the east coast does. The shore is gentle, the water deepens slowly. The Indian Ocean is peaceful and calm, with clear azure transparent water. The nature of Zanzibar is under the protection of the authorities. The coast and the bottom of the ocean are covered with snow-white fine sand. Tall palm trees grow on the beach, in the shade of which tourists hide from the blazing sun.

Previously, Mangapwani was famous for slave traders and slaves, on the beach, there were cameras in which slaves were hidden and transported to other countries of the world. Today it is a quiet, relaxing resort for the whole family. To get more information about the area and the history of the archipelago, tourists can go on one of many excursions.

When is it better to go

The climate of Tanzania is monsoon, the sun is active. The best time to relax – is from July to March. The rainy season falls on April, May and November. February – is a swing of the Tanzanian summer, the air temperature reaches +38 degrees during the day, the water warms up to +30 degrees. In Zanzibar there is a difference of 6 - 10 degrees, with the constant gusts from sea.
