The coast and bottom are covered with snow-white soft sand. Strong tides do not happen due to the great depth. Low cliffs rise above the beach. Initially, the authorities opposed the idea of turning the Nungwi into a tourist attraction, but eventually realized that this is the best place where travelers can come.
