Beaches in Nicaragua

Maderas Beach (Playa Maderas) is one of the most famous Pacific beaches in Nicaragua. It owes its popularity primarily to surfers, who recognize it as the best place for surfing in the Central American region. But also those, who come here just to enjoy the tropical sunset, lie on the beach or swim in the beautiful bay, agree that this is a heavenly spot for a beach rest. Playa Maderas is located in the southern part of the country, a 20-minute drive from the resort town of San Juan del Sur.

Las Peñitas Beach or Playa Las Penitas is a beach, located near the same-name fishing village, a 20-minute drive from Leon, Nicaragua's second largest city. Due to the features of the formation of waves in this area of the ocean, Las Penitas beach is very popular with surfing lovers.

Playa Colorado is located on the Pacific coast in the municipality of Tola, Rivas, Nicaragua. Internationally recognized as one of the best surfing beaches. The territory is about 2 km. The local nature gives more than 300 days a year of unique conditions, that are no longer anywhere in Central America.

San Juan Del Sur Beach is the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, occasionally filled up with tourists, who disembark from cruise liners and occupy a sandy beach, chic villas and second-rate hotels. Cozy bay for active youth and rest with children.

Jiquilillo is the most visited beach on the Pacific coastline of Nicaragua. Geographically, it is part of the Padre Ramos Estuary Nature Reserve, which protects the unique mangrove forests of Central America. Next to it there is a small village, the economic basis of which is sea fishing. Even a short stay in Jiquilillo promises active surfing, interesting excursions, participation in volunteer programs, and, of course, a pleasantly relaxing tropical beach rest.

Majagual Beach (Playa Majagual) is located on the Pacific coastline of Nicaragua, 10 km from the resort town of San Juan del Sur. Located on the coastline of a cozy bay, it fascinates with silence, peace and stunning panoramic scenery. The lack of developed infrastructure on its territory creates a feeling of solitude and isolation from civilization, allowing to completely relax and enjoy a tropical beach rest.

Playa El Coco can be reached within half an hour, if leaving the center of San Juan Del Sur. There are never a lot of people on the white sands, people come here to completely relax, swim, surf, admire the local beauties, see the rich and unusual wildlife, that exists in an almost pristine environment.

Playa Marsella is probably the best place to visit by the whole family. It is located a little north of San Juan Del Sur, in Nicaragua. A dirt road leads to the beach through the Marsella Valley, which is best overcomed by cross-country vehicle during the rainy season.

Playa Remanso, in addition to amazing scenery, is famous as an ideal place for surfing. It is located on the south side, not far from San Juan. A dirt road leads from it to the beach, which are made impassable in the rainy season. The rest of the time it’s just a paradise, that has no problems.

Playa Hermosa is another heavenly spot near San Juan Del Sur. A sloping sandy beach, soft waves and tropical greenery contribute to complete peace and relaxation. Hermosa is the most popular because of the many advantages.
