San Juan Del Sur beach

San Juan Del Sur Beach is the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, occasionally filled up with tourists, who disembark from cruise liners and occupy a sandy beach, chic villas and second-rate hotels. Cozy bay for active youth and rest with children.

Beach description

  • There are practically no waves, the coast is safe for children. Beginner surfers can take a few lessons.
  • During the day, the beach is not crowded, the bulk of vacationers gather by the evening. In coastal establishments - drinks, snacks, live music. Fun lasts all night, people dance until dawn.
  • In the morning, runners move along the water's edge, in the sand there are open lessons in acro yoga. A separate corner is under volleyball courts with stringed nets. Fans are very distracted by the ocean, yachts and boats, sliding on it.
  • People go windsurfing, kitesurfing, visit rope towns, with a zip line. There are horseback riding excursions, motorcycle tours.

From Managua International Airport to San Juan there is an express bus (2.5 hours). An alternative is a three-hour journey by any bus, heading towards Rivas. The best time is December-April, when there is no rain.

In the outskirts of San Juan Del Sur it is possible to see the following sights:

  • Chapel at the statue of Christ.
  • Lots of beaches nearby.
  • Night excursion to La Flor Reserve, where turtles lay their eggs.
  • Bus tour to Salvador.

When is the best time to go?

The best time to visit Nicaragua regarding the weather is the months from October to January, when the rains have already ended and the dry season has not yet arrived. However, keep in mind that many Americans come to Nicaragua for Christmas and New Year, which affects the price level.
