Majagual Beach (Playa Majagual) is located on the Pacific coastline of Nicaragua, 10 km from the resort town of San Juan del Sur. Playa Majagual is a remote beach with a cozy bay, white sand, picturesque cliff formations and huge palm trees. It is completely different from other beaches in this region, and is known as the calmest beach on the west coastline of Nicaragua. The breeze and the almost complete absence of waves make this beach ideal:
- for swimming;
- for leisurely promenades;
- for horse riding along the coast;
- for boat tours;
- for kayaking;
- for fishing on a sailing catamaran;
- for riding a quad bike.
However, sometimes here it is posible to catch a wave that attracts surfers to this coast. Often Playa Majagual is chosen as the place for sea fishing.
It is posible to get to Playa Majagual by water, sailing on a yacht or boat or by land, taking the bus from San Juan del Sur to the nearby Playa Maderas beach, and then walking for about 15 minutes. on foot along the coast, heading north. Another way to get to the beach is by taxi or a rented cross-country vehicle.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to visit Nicaragua regarding the weather is the months from October to January, when the rains have already ended and the dry season has not yet arrived. However, keep in mind that many Americans come to Nicaragua for Christmas and New Year, which affects the price level.

Playa Majagual beach considers to be partially abandoned, since there are no any beach facilities, including shops, cafes and restaurants. Coming here to rest and swim, it is necessary to bring along food and water or go to the neighboring beaches - Playa Matilda and Playa Maderas to have a snack.
Staying on the beach with an overnight stay, you should see to housing. The optimal option for a comfortable rest will be nearby hotels.
