La Réserve beach

There are not so many wild beaches on the Cote d'-Azur, but the most "wild" of them is La Réserve Beach! Beach is located right on the rocks, away from the bustling quays with an abundance of clubs, restaurants and luxury hotels, every year beach somehow attracts more and more tourists. Plus, rest on this beach is suitable for those who want saving up a bit, if this word is generally appropriate to use.

Beach description

Beach is an array of rugged rocks that descend directly into the sea. In some places, tiny stones of pebbles appear among the stones, but there are few of them, so mostly people lie directly on giant rock slabs. To go down to the beach – will have to overcome the stairs.

But a significant advantage in this situation is that the only sounds that will disturb You during your rest, will be the cries of seagulls and the sound of waves crashing on the rocks. Few tourists here, because there are no hotels nearby. Nevertheless, this rocky coast is popular among the locals living in the Eastern part of Nice.

Bottom of this area is stone and foul, so bottom is dangerous for young children and those who swim badly. In addition, strong winds blow here, which creates additional obstacles for comfortable swim.

Beaches are located along Boulevard Franca Pilate and Avenue Jean Lorain. Buses that can be reached here are on route 30 and T32. The nearest bus stop to the beach - Villa la Cote. By car to go here is not very convenient, as you will have to leave car at the nearby beach Bains Militaires.

When is the best time to go?

Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, even on the southern French Riviera is not hot weather. In winter , people go to ski resorts in France. It should be be mindful that in summer and winter in France there is a high season, respectively, prices soar. To enjoy the excursions, choose the time from February to April or from September to November, when both in the north and in the south it is not very crowded. If you go to the French Riviera in September, you will never lose: You will find a time when the weather is still warm and the prices are not so high.

Infrastructure

La Réserve is a wild beach, so the infrastructure on beach is not developed. There are no beach bars and restaurants, as well as the usual amenities in the form of sun beds, umbrellas, but there is a toilet and shower on beach. There are shops and cafes on the promenade line, but to go up to them, you will have to change your clothes, since this part is already considered a city, not a beach. In particular, just above La Réserve Beach is a restaurant with the same name.

Useful information

  1. It is inconvenient to rest a large company on this beach. On the beach, you can easily find a cozy pebble for a couple or a small family, but if your company will be more than three people, most likely, you will have to stay far away from each other.
  2. If you decide to visit La Réserve Beach, be sure to bring comfortable rubber shoes for the beach. Barefoot walking on rocks is painful and quite dangerous.
  3. There is a port near the beach, which is why the coast often have strong waves.
  4. There are no beach inspectors or medical centers on the beach. The nearest health centre is located on Coco beach, 100 metres from La Réserve Beach.
