Utersum Beach
Utersum Beach on Föhr Island (the second in the group of the North Frisian Islands) is ideal for families with well-developed infrastructure and a large number of holidaymakers in the high season - July - August. This time is suitable for a real beach holiday, with sunbathing, swimming in the warm sea and other marine activities. When visiting the island in the other months, you can have water procedures in the spa, where the water will be much warmer. Utersum Beach is located in the western part of the island. You can get to Fоhr island by ferry from Dugebull port, which comes to Vic, and you can get to Utersum by bus or taxi.

Beach description
The sandy area of the beach about 15 km long covers almost the entirety of the island's southern shore. The shore is clean and the descent is smooth, perfect for windsurfing and other water sports. And the constant wind makes it a great place for children activities like flying kites and pinwheels that can be purchased here in various trade shops. If you're not lucky with the weather during your visit - a strong wind can blow, and the water temperature decreases to just 20 degrees - you can enjoy the calm atmosphere of the city itself.
Fohr is also called The Green Island for its rich flora and unique nature as a whole. Especially attracting are the mudflats that are part of the national Schleswig park. Children love to look at the sea fauna stranded at the beach after low tides - clams, crabs, combine it with the air and it makes for good healing water treatments. Tourists can book ferry tours to neighboring islands, bike tours around the local sights and Frisian houses and exciting tours to seal rookeries.
When is the best time to go?
The best time to visit the beaches of Germany is July-August, when the Baltic Sea becomes warm enough for swimming, but the air is still cool enough for excursions.
