Beach description
The beach is located in a large bay, surrounded by green hills. The coastline here is covered with white sand. The sea is clean, with great shallow water. There is often windy on the beach, so it is very popular with surfers. Also this vacation spot is loved by families with children. There is quite crowded here in season, but a large beach area avoids crowding on the coast even in the warm months.
The beach is surrounded by a well-equipped promenade. Rescuers work from late March to late October. Surfing equipment can be rented on the coastline. A cafe is open in the gallery building on the beach.
In the outskirts of Portmeor Beach, there are many options for rental of housing, from luxury hotels in old buildings to affordable beach campsites.
When is it better to go
The swimming season in the UK officially begins on May 5 and ends on September 30, but it is better to travel on British beaches in late June, when the air temperature warms up to + 25 °C. The water in the Kingdom's water area is always cold for swimming – around + 17 °C, and at best it is not higher than + 22 °C in the warmest places of the Gulf Stream flowing. Even when abnormal heat comes to the country, the seas around the islands remain cold. In September, the weather may break up, despite the calendar off-peak season.
