Rhossili beach

Rossili Beach is located on the shores of Rossili Bay on the southwestern side of the Gower Peninsula in Glamorgan County in Wales.

Beach description

A curved coastline of about 5 km long, covered with fine sand and surrounded by cliffs and green hills, repeatedly won prestigious international prizes for the cleanliness and preservation of the unique natural landscape and environment. In 2014, Rossili was included in the top ten best beaches in the world.

There is no beach infrastructure on Rossili. Wind and high ocean waves do not favor a standard beach rest, but attract windsurfers around the world to the beach.

Swansea Tourist Center, located 30 kilometers from Rossili, provides information on accommodation and food options. It is possible to get to Rossili by a rented car with the navigator.

When is it better to go

The swimming season in the UK officially begins on May 5 and ends on September 30, but it is better to travel on British beaches in late June, when the air temperature warms up to + 25 °C. The water in the Kingdom's water area is always cold for swimming – around + 17 °C, and at best it is not higher than + 22 °C in the warmest places of the Gulf Stream flowing. Even when abnormal heat comes to the country, the seas around the islands remain cold. In September, the weather may break up, despite the calendar off-peak season.
