Varamon beach

Varamon beach is different from most other popular beaches in Sweden for the reason that, unlike them, it is not on the shores of the Baltic or North Sea, but on the banks of the picturesque Lake Vettern. It is the second largest in the whole country and is located in the central part of southern Sweden: in 2.5 hours you can get here from Stockholm by car along the modern E4 highway.

Beach description

Fine sand and clear water combined with the marvelous smell of pine trees do not leave indifferent neither local residents nor visitors. The entry into the water here is shallow, so you can safely relax here with the children, but the lake itself is cool. There are activities on the beach for people of all ages: and windsurfing, and feeding birds and just walking along the shore.

The sandy strip is rather narrow, but long, and along it an asphalt path is laid. It is convenient to walk along with strollers, and in general due to the small size, lack of bars and beautiful nature, recreation here is more suitable for families with children or elderly people. Baramon itself is located in the city of Mutala, which houses both 13th-century churches and various cafes, restaurants and cheap hotels.

When is the best time to go?

Vacation on the beaches of Sweden is best in July-August, when the water in the northern Baltic Sea becomes warm enough for swimming.
