Amedee beach

It's necessary to visit Amedee Beach, located on the same name island, if there is only one day of holiday, which is willing to spent in one of the most secluded and beautiful places. It's located in 24km from Nouméa, and trip here by boat takes no more then 40 min. It is worth remembering that Amedee is included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list: so nature should be treated with special care.

Beach description

The whole shore of the small island is covered with white and clean sand. In the distance people's attention will be attracted by unusual trees with many thin intertwined trunks: between them often slip poisonous coral asps, but they're not dangerous if not to touch them. But the main advantage of the local beach is water, which is so transparant that the bottom and passing fish can be seen at almost any depth. Near is the coral reef, and with all that protection the beach has, the diversity of underwater flora and fauna is really surprising. After the beach leisure, visitors can walk to the lighthouse, climb to the top of it or take part in a master class in Tahitian dance. Don't forget to take the coverlet and sunscreen with: there are no sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach, however it's a possibility to rent an equipment for diving.

When is it better to go?
