Baie des Citrons beach
Citrus (Lemon) Bay (Baie des Citrons Beach) got its name either because of the lemon trees that once grew here, or because of a ship loaded with lemons and ran aground near Noumea, or because of the special shade of beach sand. The city stands on the shore of the French overseas Union in New Caledonia, washed by the Southern Pacific Ocean.

On the shore of the isolated archipelago was formerly a penal colony for over-zealous revolutionaries, actively working port. Now Citron collect full house not for the meetings and ship wires. Baie des Citrons can be seen not only families with children, but also old people. Young people dive from pontoons fixed near the shore, explore the corals on the right side of the Bay, watching the colorful fish in the clear water.
After swimming, jogging and cycling along the beach tourists can go to the cafe, eat delicious ice-cream and create their own picnic in shady thickets.
