Fayaoue beach

Oveja Island from the Loyalty Islands group of New Caledonia is considered one of the most beautiful places in the entire region. It's less popular because of the distant location, but it's worth of visiting to relax against the background of incredibly beautiful nature. Especially Fayaoue, which is the largest and at the same time secluded beach on the island.

Beach description

The shore with white and powder-like sand is 22 km long: it's not difficult to find a place. Tourists can be accompanied by quiet but curious children of the locals. The temperature of the purest blue water, like the air, never falls below twenty-five degrees throughout the year. There are no strong winds and dramatic bottom drops, so even those who are bad at swimming will feel comfortable. And despite the fact that visitors will have to take bedding and umbrellas, on the beach they will not get bored, even if the phone runs out. Instead of sunbeds equipment for scuba diving, fishing and windsurfing can be rented. Don't forget to take water and sun protection cream: there are no bars and shops nearby.

When is it better to go?

The beaches of New Caledonia are accessible all year round, but the best season to visit them is the winter season, which lasts from October to May. Warm, dry weather with a temperature of + 24-26 °C prevails on the island at this time. Rains and tropical hurricanes await holidaymakers in the low (summer) season, from November to April.
