Alakhadzi beach
Alakhadzi - beautiful Abkhaz nature, clear sea and a vast beach. The beach is located near a village of the same name between Pitsunda and Gagra.

Beach description
The beach near the village of Alakhadzi is a wide (80 m) and long (6 km) beach area covered with sand and fine pebbles (the closer to water, the more rocky is the beach). The water entry is convenient, the bottom is pebbly. Depth increases rather sharply but the beach has several meters of shallow water. The sea here is clear and transparent. As a rule, there are no high waves and wind in the high season. The beach is never crowded; the most visitors here are families with children.
the most part of the beach is represented by wild areas without beach equipment or any entertainments. The only exception is the beach area by the hotel with alleys laid, changing cabins installed, and cafes functioning. Sling chairs and umbrellas can be rented here.
The village has the wide range of dwelling in the private sector for rent. There are many rooms here, and tehre is a chance to book a room in one of several guest houses and mini hotels.
When is it better to go
The climate of Abkhazia is mild and comfortable, so tourists come to local resorts all year round. The swimming season begins in May and ends in October.

Attractions
Alakhadzi is a small village, so there are almost no interesting tourist sites in it. Historic sites include fragments of the foundations of two Christian basilicas of the 10th century. Other historical sites and attractions can be found in neighboring Gagra and Pitsunda.
How to get there
The village is located right by the beach, it can be quickly reached on foot from any part of Alakhadzi. From Gagra or Pitsunda it is easy to get here by bus or taxi (the journey takes about 10 minutes).
