Laomei beach

Taiwan's unique beach, primarily due to stony moats, rapidly covered with vegetation that blooms in mid-spring. At this time, it is possible to capture an outstanding sight quite well and beautifully from the coastline, since the reef is carefully guarded and it is impossible to walk along it. Moreover, during high tide, the surface gets wet, it becomes slippery and completely unsafe.

Beach description

Huge trenches smoothly enter the sea, then the beach is gradually replaced by a more familiar sand surface. This is an amazing and no less picturesque place for walking.

The beach itself is located near the eponymous settlement Laomei, in an area called Shimen off the northern coast of Taiwan. Get to the beach by bus, which goes from the metro station, or a rented car. Since the sea is not warm enough in the spring for swimming, and tourists from all over the world come here not to sunbathe at all, then after watching plenty of green reefs and taking a couple of successful shots, you can go to the local village and visit the market with fresh seafood. They prepare seafood here, and in addition to generous merchants you can buy cold drinks, stock up on towels and meet the sunset on the seashore.

When is the best time to go?

The period from the end of September to April-May is the most favorable for a trip to Taiwan, since the weather in these months is not too hot to relax on the beach. October is considered the most comfortable month regarding the weather. Spring begins with the rainy season, in summer, intense heat keeps in these latitudes.
