Liparo beach

Liparo Beach is located in the southwest of Kea Island. Despite the crystal clear water of a beautiful blue-green color and sand cover, there are few people on the coast. There are several trees within the coast that provide shady areas on the beach. Near Liparo there are a couple of hotels, restaurants with varied cuisine and camping.

Beach description

Due to the color of the sand, the beach is often called golden. At the same time it is referred to as a remote recreation area, because on the coast of the Kea Island there are many other, more organized beaches with well-developed infrastructure. There are no amenities on Liparo, which is why it is a favorite destination for those who like to rest in an ascetic way of life, preferring a simple vacation without excesses.

Liparo is ideal for those who love peace, calmness and tranquility. Besides, the nearby cliffs are ideal for snorkeling and swimming. The beach is considered to be the hallmark of the beautiful Cycladic landscape, near the Vatyrema Gorge, so sunbathing and swimming can be combined with a visit to natural beauty.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
