Beach description
The beaches of Malgrat de Mar, the 4,5 km long coastline, merge with the Santa Susanna beaches. The feature of this place is the relatively smooth descent and a sudden depth change. The wave height is average.
The beaches, covered in large light yellow sand, are known for their well-developed infrastructure. Numerous restaurants and cafes, rental stores with umbrellas, sunbeds, boats, diving and surfing equipment operate along the beach. There are also windsurfing and sailing schools. Among the most popular beaches are:
- Tropic Park;
- Central;
- La Conca;
- Astillero.
Malgrat de Mar is quite crowded. Many youth and tourists from Central and Northern Europe come here.
Buses from the Barcelona Airport and trains from the Nord train station and Catalonia Square in Barcelona come to Malgrat de Mar. R1, R11 and RG1 trains from Girona are also a way to get to Malgrat de Mar.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
