Okata beach, located north of Barcelona, is a worthy alternative to its main city beaches, that are full during peak seasons.

Beach description
The wide Okata beach starts from the marina of El Masnou and stretches for 2500 meters. Even in July, its soft, amber-colored sand carpet has enough place to spread a beach towel. The distant sector of this spacious recreation area, where there are more stones than sand, was settled on by nudists.
The water in the Ocata lagoon nearly always is clean. The bottom is deeper here than on many southern beaches of the Costa del Maresme. The coastline slope is quite steep, although skillful swimmers find it ideal. Small waves are favorable to surfing.
A line of beach bars along the coast provide cool drinks and light snacks to revelers. Conveniences for guests include:

- kayak rentals.
Shops and restaurants are located across the street from the recreation area. Craft fairs are held periodically opposite the marina. Near Ocata you can find more than a dozen hotels to fit every taste and budget.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
