Beach description
Nine sandy and pebbly beaches are located along the coastline among mountains covered in lush Mediterranean greenery.
The most popular sandy beach is Playa del Pescadors, or the Fisherman Beach, with a well-developed infrastructure. Everything for a good vacation is available here - beach equipment rental, cafes, taverns, restaurants, you name it. Both tourists and locals enjoy spending their time on Sant Pol de Mar. A nudist beach is located in a secluded bay not far from the central beach.
More solitary beaches, like Les Roques Blanques which got its name due to the white mountains surrounding it, and La Murtra with its natural deepenings where rain water is stored, are located in the surroundings of the resort.
You can get to Sant Pol de Marfrom Barcelona, located 50 km away from the resort, by bus that goes along the whole Costa del Maresme coast. The bus stops across the Playa del Pescadors Beach.
- The same buses also depart from Girona. There are night buses.
- Another way to get to the resort is by train from the Sants train station in Barcelona.
- If you're going by car from Barcelona, take the national II highway, the C-32 highway or the B-608 highway.
When is it better to go
The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
