Cala Fonda beach

Cala Fonda Beach is one of the top ten in Catalonia. Its unofficial name, Waikiki, underlines the extraordinary Hawaiian beauty of this place. Cala Fonda is an amazingly scenic stretch of coast. The bay with clear water and light sand is surrounded by tall hills covered with pine trees.

Beach description

Kala Fonda is located in the reserve "Tamarit – Cape Mora". This beach can not boast of large size, it is a cozy and secluded stretch of coast. The coastal strip is 200 meters long and 25 meters wide. Kala Fonda is covered with fine golden sand; the coast has shallow water. The sand here is very light, and the sea is of an unusual azure hue. This area in the vicinity of Tarragona has retained its original appearance, although the distance to the nearest resort is only 10 km.

Gorgeous sand and calm waters offer visitors a great place for a relaxing holiday. There are no amenities here, you need to take everything you need to relax with you.

The beach is located in the reserve, so there is no development in the immediate vicinity. You can rent a house or a room in the nearest village, and housing for every taste can easily be found in the neighboring resort town of Tarragona.

When is it better to go

The beach season on the coast of Spain falls on the period from May to October. The water and air temperature reaches the most comfortable levels, thereby guaranteeing tourists a perfect vacation.
