Beach description
The safety of swimmers and surfers is being watched over by lifeguards on two towers. The bottom of the sea is deep enough, but you should beware of strong currents. Fans of fishing can try their luck in front of the cliffs – experienced underwater hunters promise good biting there.
It's nice to spend some time at Burleigh Heads in the barbecue area or at the local diner serving fresh fish. The beach infrastructure includes parking, which is very crowded during school holidays and weekends. Local landmark – Burleigh National Park. In this oasis you can admire the ocean views and the beauty of wildlife – an eucalyptus forest, tussock pastures and mangroves.
When is it better to go
The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
