Beach description
The sand of the Currumbin Beach is soft, with a golden-red hue. It's better to swim here in the areas controlled by the coast guard (southern part). The wave size does not exceed 1.5 m, but swimming can be dangerous due to strong currents. The beach attracts surfers and lovers of fishing.
The main attraction of the Currumbin Beach area is an unusual nature reserve called “Zoo without cages”. Another must-see destination for travelers is the Elephant Rock, a tall rock that resembles an elephant from the one side. You can get to Currumbin from Brisbane by bus or train.
When is it better to go
The Gold Coast, with its stunning coastline and vibrant atmosphere, is a premier destination for beach enthusiasts. To make the most of your beach vacation, timing is key. Here's when you should consider visiting:
- Summer (December - February): Peak Season. The weather is hot and sunny, perfect for beach activities. However, it's also the busiest time, so expect crowds.
- Autumn (March - May): Great Weather, Fewer Crowds. The water remains warm, but the heat starts to subside, making it comfortable for all-day beach outings.
- Winter (June - August): Mild Temperatures. For those who prefer cooler weather, this is the time to enjoy the beach without the intense summer heat.
- Spring (September - November): Best Balance. The temperatures start to rise again, but the crowds haven't peaked yet, offering a perfect balance for a beach vacation.
In conclusion, the best time to visit the Gold Coast for a beach vacation depends on your preferences. For warm weather and lively atmosphere, summer is ideal, but for a more relaxed experience with pleasant conditions, consider autumn or spring.
