Beach description
Mermaid Beach is a peaceful place with soft golden sand and wonderful ocean scenery. The depth of the sea shelf allows you to enjoy the refreshing waters of the Pacific Ocean. But you shouldn't be too relaxed, because strong currents are not uncommon in this place. Safety on the beach is monitored from the towers by lifeguards, who advise not to swim far from the shore. The wind here decreases with the late evening and blows from the south or southwest in the early morning.
The golfers come to Mermaid Beach to play on one of the three themed 18-hole courses of Putt Putt Mermaid Beach. Besides playing, you can also enjoy your time in the barbecue area. The fastest way to get to Mermaid Beach is by taxi.
When is it better to go
The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
