Greenfield beach

Greenfield Beach is located in the scenic area of Jervis Bay National Park. It is named in memory of Colin Greenfield, who lived in the area from 1942 to 1970. For many tourists, Greenfield is much more than crystal clear waters and soft white sand. This is another world without noise and fuss, guarded by picturesque cliffs.

Beach description

Neat grass-covered lawns behind the sands and convenient pedestrians' alleys laid along them are a perfect place for BBQ, birdwatching and enjoying wild flowers. There are the following facilities on the beach:

  • free electric BBQ kits,
  • drinking water,
  • cold shower,
  • water closets,
  • closed dinner areas,
  • parking lot with the wheelchair access.

Greenfield is never crowded even in the high season which allows its guests fully relax in complete privacy. After a tasty dinner, one can walk in the park or go to the beach to swim in calm waters, engage in snorkeling or body surfing. It is a popular place for family vacations, weddings, and honeymoons.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
