Hyams beach

Hyams is located in New South Wales, 300 kilometers south of Sydney. The beach is covered with the whitest sand in the world, which is confirmed by the Guinness Book of Records.

Beach description

Hyams is a long and wide cost area in Jervis Bay. It is really covered with incredible sand, very light, and sparkling. The beach smoothly transforms into shallow waters convenient for entering the sea. Hyams is good for swimming but it is more loved by water sports fans:

  • surfing;
  • winsurfing;
  • diving;
  • snorkeling;
  • sailing.

Many beach visitors prefer spending their time in kayaking or fishing.

There are never many tourists on this section of the beach. On a working day, you have a real chance to be the only visitor of this winderful beach.

Hyams has both clean sand and clean water. There is a parking lot with shower and bathroom. A cafe is situated nearby. The beach has no additional facilities for visitors. Hyams is situated close to two natural parks where you can observe Australian animals and plants.

When is it better to go

The busiest swimming season in Australia lasts from December to February. In this summer, for the southern latitudes, the mainland heats up to 25-30 °C, in places up to 40 °C. In winter (June to August) the air is cooled down to 11 °C. May and September are considered the best beach months with a cloudless sky and not too active sun.
