Antofagasta beach
Antofagasta is one of the biggest seaports and industrial centers of Chile, located in the north of the country. The beach is well-known for its amazing beaches, with their overall length being over 20 km. Some of them are located in the town, others - on the shore of the south suburbs of Antofagasta and on the Mejillones peninsula.

Among the best beaches of Antofagasta are:
The Balneario Municipal de Antofagasta Beach in the city center. The surface here is sandy, the descent is smooth, the sea bottom is also covered in sand. Water is calm. Cafes and snack bars, rafting and surfing centers operate here.
The international airport, from where you can reach the city by bus, taxi or car, is located 24 km away from Antofagasta.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Chile begins in October and ends in March. Do not forget that the Peruvian current (Humboldt Current) prevents a full beach holiday, as it carries cold streams from Antarctica along the coastline of South America.
