Zapallar beach
Zapallar Beach is located on the territory of the resort of the same name in Petorca province of Valparaiso. The Rambla pathway stretches along the coast, with residential quarters full of snow white houses and villas surrounded by lush gardens located beyond it. The resort is surrounded by a ring of tall picturesque hills covered in lush tropical greens.

Beach description
The Zapallar Beach is covered in light grainy sand. The descent is smooth and the sea bottom is sandy. High waves are a frequent occurence. The beach is well-equipped. There are rental stores, showers and toilets here.
The beach is extremely popular and very crowded during high season, but not noisy at all. Zapallar is considered to be an elite place where rich tourists and locals come often. Besides that, the resort is known to be one of the most romantic places on planet Earth, which is why many couples of all ages visit here as well. Zapallar isn't suitable for families with children, as there are no playgrounds or other attractions here, and leaving them in the water unsupervised is dangerous. People like to come here to comfortably sunbathe, ride boats along the coast and admire the ocean and the magnificent landscape that surrounds the beach.
When is it better to go
The beach season in Chile begins in October and ends in March. Do not forget that the Peruvian current (Humboldt Current) prevents a full beach holiday, as it carries cold streams from Antarctica along the coastline of South America.

Zapallar is a prestigious place with quite high prices. Many fashionable hotels, apartments and guest houses where visitors are provided with great living conditions are located on the coast.

Many restaurants, cafes and snack bars that offer a wide variety of regional, Spanish and European meals operate on the beach and in the city. Those who want to try something authentic can order:
- locro - stew with vegetables,
- lomo a lo pobre - beef with french fries and fried egg covered in spices,
- caldillo de congrio - eel with vegetables.
What to do
Zapallar can't provide many breathtaking adventures, people come here for its calm and quiet atmosphere. The most popular activities to partake in here are walks across the city and trips to the hills where designated pathways will lead you. Fishing, organized by tour agencies of the resort, is also quite popular here. A great way to add some variety to your vacation is partaking on yacht or boat rides along the coast.
