Smuggler's Cove beach

Despite the formidable name, which means “Bay of Smugglers”, now this beach is a fairly quiet and peaceful place. If you do not have a good car, then leave yours before the start of a dirt road, departing from the main road: the path from her to the water is short, but rather bumpy.

Beach description

The long and narrow beach is mostly covered with light sand but those areas where small rough rocks occur are the most popular. Such places are loved by small multi-colored fish and, respectively, by people. Both adults and kids enjoy catching them, with hands and fishing rods. Although, it is unlikely taht other visitors will bother you even on the most crowded day: the beach is small, and it has no room for all visitors and fishing fans.

Water by the coast is clear and calm, and the bottom smoothly descends to the coral reef. Smugglers Cove is a perfect place not only for swimming and yachting, but for scuba-diving as well. Sea turtles are seen here rather often. There is no reason to worry about waves, or about the abandoned building near the beach: in the past, this place was a bar run by two brother who managed to fight it back from other owners. Although, nobody bought the bar back after their death so it is gradually destroyed by nature.

When is the best time to go?

Since the islands have a tropical climate, the air temperature during the year is practically unchanged and rarely drops below 24 degrees. The same temperature level is noted when determining the water temperature. The wettest and most comfortable months to stay – are from September to November, but the hurricane season also falls on the same period. Therefore, the best time to relax – is the beginning of December or May and the end of April.
