White Bay beach

White Bay Beach is a unique place, even by the standards of the British Virgin Islands. It is located on the south coast of the island of Jost Van Dyke, named after the famous pirate, and although it can be reached by land from the Great Harbor, the main and favorite of all tourists, the path still lies along the water.

Beach description

the main feature of this beach is its sand, more precisely, its origin making this place unique. The most part of its composition falls on coral chips formed by fish eating the corals. But it doesn't become less soft and light because of this. The water entry into the azure sea is rather smooth, and no high waves occur here because the beach is protected from them with coral reefs standing at a distance from the shore.

The main visitors are youth and adventure seekers: both categories are attracted here by yacht, boat trips, scuba-diving, and local beach bars. There, you will get your super exclusive Painkiller cocktail; its ingredients are dark rum and juice of several fruits.

When is the best time to go?

Since the islands have a tropical climate, the air temperature during the year is practically unchanged and rarely drops below 24 degrees. The same temperature level is noted when determining the water temperature. The wettest and most comfortable months to stay – are from September to November, but the hurricane season also falls on the same period. Therefore, the best time to relax – is the beginning of December or May and the end of April.
