Grande Anse beach
It is located in the southern part of the island in the vicinity of the resort village of Petite-Île and is the main sight of these places. The beach is situated in a cozy picturesque bay surrounded by basalt rocks, and is framed by majestic coconut palms, making it even more appealing and exotic.

Beach description
The shore is covered with snow-white sand, against which the heavenly blue of the ocean seems even brighter and more inviting. But this impression is deceptive, swimming here is quite difficult because of the strong currents. Only the southern part of the beach has an improvised swimming pool, where even small children can feel completely safe. On the other hand, there are many pleasant bonuses for visitors on the shore, such as children's and sports playgrounds, a cozy park with areas for barbecue and even a bowling club.
There are many cafes and restaurants along the coast, as well as a large parking lot and a medical station. And the nearest hills offer fantastic views of the beach and its surroundings, as well as you can see the islet of Petite-Île, after which this beautiful resort was named.
When is the best time to go?
Since there are mountains on the island, the climate on it is cooler and drier than on the neighboring islands. Since Reunion is located in the southern hemisphere, the calendar winter coincides with the climatic summer, so the best time to visit the island is from September to November and from April to May.
