La Salines-les-Bains beach
It's located in the western part of the Réunion Island next to the resort village of La Salines-les-Bains and is its main beach. In the north it borders on the more noisy and lively Hermitage Beach, while to the south there is the Trou d’eau Beach. A fairly long coastline is covered with gentle white sand and reliably protected from sharks by a picturesque coral reef inhabited by a wide variety of local fauna.

Perfect option for families with small children, the main thing is to take care of special shoes and sunscreen (there is not enough shade from the trees for everyone). The beach has water attractions, sports equipment rental centers, boats and catamarans. For children, there's an entertainment area with inflatable slides and trampolines, volleyball net and an area for active beach games. There are several cafes and diners on the shore, which provide visitors with sun loungers and umbrellas in exchange for buying drinks. The beach is monitored by lifeguards, there is free parking, showers and toilets.
When is the best time to go?
Since there are mountains on the island, the climate on it is cooler and drier than on the neighboring islands. Since Reunion is located in the southern hemisphere, the calendar winter coincides with the climatic summer, so the best time to visit the island is from September to November and from April to May.
