Kurasaki beach
Kurasaki Beach, like many other beaches on Amami Island, is perfect for snorkeling as the water along the coast is quite shallow. The sandy and clean beach is located about 30 minutes away from the airport, but buses come rarely. There's a big parking lot for rented vehicles, a luxurious hotel for accomodation purposes is located near the beach, and diving center and restaurant both operate at the beach. Kurasaki Beach is a great place for sunbathing, swimming and walking along the rocky part of the coastline, as the water gets warm as early as March and April.
