Ooganeku beach
It's considered to be the most beautiful beach on the Yoron Island and one of the biggest ones. Ooganeku Beach is located on the east coast and covers 2 km of the total island area. It's simply impossible to not visit this beach when coming to the island. It's perfectly suitable for water activities and swimming.

Boat tours, underwater swimming and other activities are popular here, and you can purchase or rent equipment for pretty much anything in the local shops and rental stores. Those who prefer calm vacations can comfortably lay in a hammock with a book or walk on the sandy and soft beach. It's quite clear and there are no remains of volcanic rocks in this part of the island.
You can get to the beach from the nearby small camping site. And once you're relaxed it's advised to visit the neighboring sandy beach to watch turtles and other sea inhabitants. It's accessible almost all year long, from February to October.
When is the best time to go?
If in the north of Japan, in Hokkaido, the weather in January-February is quite wintery, in the southern islands the temperature rarely drops below 20 degrees even in the cold season. In summer, the rainy season comes in Japan, when the humidity becomes almost one hundred percent, and the thermometer is at 30 to 40 degrees. Therefore, the best time to travel to Japan – is late spring or early autumn.
