Tsamadou beach

Tsamadou is located at the foot of the picturesque hills in the northern part of the island near the village of Kokkari. The almost two-kilometer line of the bay is surrounded by lush greenery. A steep walking path leads to the beach, with pine and olive trees crowding along its sides.

Beach description

This is probably the cleanest and most transparent water in Samosa. The shore is covered with white pebbles, and on the sides it is covered from winds by rocky hills. As in the whole of Greece, it is often windy and restless on the sea, but on the beach due to its location is pretty quiet.

It can be crowded in a season. Most vacationers are Greeks. Samos is not yet subject to siege by crowds of foreign tourists, it retains its inherent flavor. The resort is well organized, except for the presence of rich natural attractions:

  • it is equipped with umbrellas and free sunbeds;
  • there are changing cabins;
  • the beach cafes and taverns have toilets;
  • there is a parking lot above the beach;
  • you can get there by public transport;
  • the perfect cuisine is offered by the restaurants;
  • there is a kiosk that sells all sorts of stuff.

The east side of the coast is given to nudists. It's the only place on the island that's officially open to them. In some places, the bottom is sharply deep, and the absence of sand in the very blue waters guarantees excellent snorkeling. It's a good place for couples, young people, coming with kids.

Except for the kiosk, there are no shops in the area of the next three kilometers, so the sunscreen and all the necessary things are better to have with you. It is desirable to sunbathe on a rented sun lounger, a towel laid on a beautiful pebble will not save the sides, the stones a quite large. Special shoes will also be useful.

When is the best time to go?

Greece - a country with a long length from north to south, so the recommendations will vary depending on the place where you are going. The holiday season  begins in May and reaches a peak in July-August: there are too many tourists, and the temperature on the southern islands reaches 40 degrees, which may still not play a role on the beach, but certainly not suitable for sightseeing. So the best time to relax in Greece is the end of spring-beginning of summer or September-October.
