Just a few years ago, one could get to Vati Beach only by a small boat from the port town of Kamares. Today, this pearl of Sifnos can be reached by the high quality asphalt road from Apollonia, the capital of the island. The distance between these points is 14 km
Vati Beach is a magnificent picturesque gulf situated on the southwest part of Sifnos. This golden sand beach stretches for over 1 km and is the largest coast on the island. According to locals and tourists, this is one of the most beautiful areas of Sifnos with crystal clear shallow waters and majestic fence of high rocks. It is also very pleasant that Vati is one of few beaches able to boast natural cool air due to tall trees leaning over the beach.
In spite of the fact that Vati uses popularity, there are no large crowds on the beach. This beach is frequently visited by families with small kids, newly married couples, and, moreover, Vati is much loved by artists and writers for its natural entrancement. Vathy is located on the southwestern side of Sifnos and near the beach there are interesting sights among which are:
