The natural pool is part of the archaeological complex of Roca Vecchia. In the area, in addition to recent excavations of a medieval settlement, you can see the dungeons, crypts and ruins of buildings of various eras, starting from the Bronze Age.
Around noon, many people gather at Grotta della Poetry. If you want to swim in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, you should come here before 10 in the morning. This magical corner of nature attracts not only swimmers, but also extreme sportsmen. The bay is deep enough to jump straight from the cliffs into the crystal clear waters to the applause of the public.
You can get to this attractive place by car for half an hour from the city of Lecce. The bay does not have access to sandy beaches. The nearest one, Torre del Orso, is just a 10-minute drive away. There you will find sun loungers, restaurants, bars and other beach amenities.
