Sant'Isidoro beach

Sant’Isidoro is the property of the municipality of Nardo. The name of this beach is associated with the watch tower of the same name, built on the shore in the 16th century to prevent pirate landings. Today the tower is the property of the state and is used as summer housing.

Beach description

Almost every meter of the beach is lined with the whitest and finest sand in all of Salento. Against the background of this snow-white coating, pure sea water acquires an intensely blue color. No wonder Sant'Isidoro is considered the “Caribbean Corner of Puglia”. In summer, this unique holiday destination is literally attacked by tourists – both Italians and foreigners.

The waters of the Ionian Sea are shallow, pleasantly warm and surprisingly calm. Smooth entry into the water is safe for young children. The sandy bottom remains shallow for tens of meters. From the beach you can see a small island in the sea, which can be reached by swimming. Several rocky sections make a small difference to the coastal idyll.

Guests can relax on the beach areas of private resorts or choose a public relaxation area. To services of tourists rent of chaise lounges, umbrellas and boats, beach bars. Nearby are restaurants, hotels, a supermarket, fish shops and entertainment venues.

When is it better to go

In terms of climate, the period from May to October is the most favorable for visiting Italy. The air and water temperature becomes ideal for a classic beach holiday, followed by a trip to the coast of Italy. However, it is necessary to remember that a long summer with the scorching sun, warm sea and pleasant sea breeze attracts crowds of tourists.
